Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 20, 2026
Gainwisely is a workout tracking app operated from Jamaica. We collect the minimum information needed to run the service, help you sign in, sync workout data, and diagnose stability issues. This policy explains what we handle and your rights under the Jamaican Data Protection Act, 2020.
Information We Use
- Account details such as your email address and profile name.
- Workout plans, history, progress metrics, and app preferences.
- Diagnostic data such as crash reports and basic app version info.
How It Is Used
- To authenticate your account and sync your workout data.
- To calculate analytics, training history, and progress views.
- To investigate crashes, broken flows, and beta feedback.
Health Connect (Android)
On Android, Gainwisely can connect to Health Connect so your completed workouts appear alongside data from your other fitness apps. This integration is strictly opt-in: nothing is written to Health Connect unless you grant permission, and you can decline or revoke access at any time without affecting the rest of the app.
- What we write: when enabled, we write a single strength-training session per completed workout — its activity type, start and end times, and an optional title (your workout day name, for example “Push Day”).
- What we do not write: we do not write calories or energy, heart rate, steps, distance, body measurements, or any other health metric.
- How it is used: Health Connect data is used only to record your own workouts for you. We do not read your Health Connect data to profile you, we do not use it for advertising, and we never sell it or transfer it to third parties.
Our use of Health Connect follows Google’s Health Connect permissions and data-handling requirements. You manage the connection from the app’s Health & Privacy screen and from the Health Connect app’s own permission controls on your device.
Apple Health (iOS)
On iOS, Gainwisely can connect to Apple Health (HealthKit) so your completed workouts appear alongside data from your other fitness apps. As on Android, this is strictly opt-in: nothing is written to Apple Health unless you grant permission, and you can decline or revoke access at any time without affecting the rest of the app.
- What we write: when enabled, we write a single strength-training workout per completed session — its activity type, start and end times, and an optional title (your workout day name).
- What we do not write: we do not write calories or energy, heart rate, steps, distance, body measurements, or any other health metric.
- How it is used: Apple Health data is used only to record your own workouts for you. We do not read your Apple Health data to profile you, we do not use it for advertising, and we never sell it or transfer it to third parties.
Health data written to Apple Health is handled in line with Apple’s HealthKit requirements and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. You manage the connection from the app’s Health & Privacy screen and from the iOS Health app’s own permission controls, where you can also remove any workouts Gainwisely has written.
Sensitive Personal Data
Under the Data Protection Act, 2020, information about your physical health is treated as sensitive personal data. We process workout, Health Connect, and Apple Health data only with your consent, for the specific purposes described above, and we apply added care to keep it secure. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
Data Sharing
Gainwisely does not sell personal information. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers used by the app, such as Firebase (operated by Google) for authentication, database storage, and crash reporting. These providers may process data outside Jamaica; we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect it during such transfers.
Data Controls
Inside the app you can export workouts, clear local workout-related data, revoke the Health Connect or Apple Health connection, or delete your account. Deleting your account is intended to remove associated app data from active systems. Revoking a health connection stops future syncing; workouts already written can be removed from within Health Connect or the Apple Health app itself.
Your Rights Under Jamaican Law
If you are in Jamaica, the Data Protection Act, 2020 gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- request deletion of your data;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- withdraw consent, including for health data, at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information Commissioner of Jamaica.
